"My business is too small, I don't need to do any First Aid training"

Knowing what your obligations are either as a sole trader or a small to medium business can be confusing & with training budgets as tight as they are, it is important that your money should be spent on the correct training courses.

Once you have made a risk assessment of your business you will know if it identifies that a first-aider is or is not, necessary. If your minimum requirement is to appoint a person to take charge of the first-aid arrangements, including looking after the First Aid Kit and facilities, and calling the emergency services when required.
You must ensure that the 'appointed person' is available to undertake these duties at all times when people are at work.

However , even in small, low-hazard organisations where first-aiders who have done an extended 3 day course are considered unnecessary, there is always the possibility of an accident or sudden illness. Therefore many businesses choose to train their 'appointed person' in Emergency First Aid at work. This means that they are competent to give some help to the casualty, rather that just calling the emergency services.

Our one day EFAW course will equip your staff with the necessary skills to deliver basic First Aid and in the even that the casualty stops breathing, administer life support until the ambulance arrives. The course complies with HSE regulations and a certificate of attendance valid for three years is issued at the end. Our courses run regularly throughout the year and our trainers are professional, fun and engaging. No dreary training with us!

Our next EFAW course is on 18th May at St Julian's. The course runs from 9.30-4.30 and costs £90 per person. If you'd like to send a member of your staff you can book and pay for them by clicking the link
